disposable probes. We practice all three modalities of
electrolysis, using the one best fitted for your needs and skin
condition.

Electrolysis for Red Vein
Removal
Fine, red capillaries and spider veins on the face and décolletage can be simply and easily removed. Very few treatments are needed for excellent results.
These dilated capillaries, often found on the cheeks and nose, are caused by the loss of elasticity in the capillary walls. There are various causes, although most often they are due to an inherited factor or from sun damage. A doctor’s letter is necessary, as there may sometimes be a medical condition causing the problem.
A series of pinpricks with an electrolysis needle along the length of the damaged capillary is made, causing little dams or blockages along the vessel. This stops blood from flowing into the area. Once the section of the blood vessel is not receiving blood, it will collapse, tissue will be re absorbed, and that area will not be apparent as a red capillary any more. Sometimes a single treatment will fix the problem, sometimes a short course is needed.
There are two main types of Red veins or hemangiomas: spider angiomas (nevus araneus), commonly known as spider veins, and cherry angiomas (senile angiomas or Campbell de Morgan spots).
Spider
Angiomas
Spider angiomas are found around the eyes, nose, cheekbones, arms, and legs. They are red marks formed from dilated blood vessels.
There are various causes, although most often they are due to an inherited factor or from sun damage. They occur during pregnancy in 70% of white women and 10% of black women, in alcoholics and liver disease patients, and in 50% of children.
Spider angiomas are painless, reddish blue marks formed from blood-filled capillaries, around a small artery, in the shape of a spider web.
The walls of the veins which carry blood from the feet and hands back to the heart, sometimes weaken with age. If the veins' walls and valves are weak, the blood may tend to balloon out against the skin.
Cherry Angiomas
Cherry angiomas are dilated capillaries found mainly on the
trunk of the body and they usually appear in the 30s and multiply with
aging (however, some people will start to develop them during
their late teens.) They appear as small bright red mole like spots on the skin
and are completely innocent but often become larger, more obvious and more numerous with
time.

Electrolysis FAQ's
Is
Electrolysis Permanent? - Electrolysis has been
shown to be permanent in over a century of use. Its permanency has been
well recognized by physicians and is testified to by hundreds of scientific
articles in well respected medical journals and publications. Of course,
as with all procedures involving human beings, there will always be instances
where 100% permanency is not achieved,
but
the permanency rate is approximately 93% of all people treated worldwide.
Is
Electrolysis Safe? - In
the entire over 120 year history of the procedure, the safety and
success has been well documented. Today's
technicians utilize modern scientific methods of
sterilization, disinfection and antisepsis for the
equipment they use, and follow guidelines that are laid
down by the Centers for Disease Control and professional
electrology organizations and societies.
Is
Electrolysis Painful? - The treatment sensations
have been described in varying ways and depends upon many
variables. The most commonly used descriptors are
"tingling", "slight heat" and a "stinging" sensation.
Well trained technicians make it a priority to work within
the comfort level of the patient and will adjust machine
settings, probe sizes and length of session to each
individual's tolerance level. Never hesitate to tell
your technician exactly what you need and can tolerate!
Is
Electrolysis Expensive? - When you consider the
lifetime costs of shaving creams, razors, tweezers, waxes,
depilatories, not to mention all the time and pain
involved -- or all the remedies that are expensive yet
completely ineffective or even dangerous -- the cost for
electrolysis is extremely affordable. Electrolysis
is indeed the most cost effective treatment available to
get rid of unsightly and embarrassing hair for good!
Isn't
Laser Better Than Electrolysis? - Laser hair removal is an option for many
people BUT it can cause permanent scarring and damage too! We suggest
doing full research on laser hair removal, both the pros and cons. In rare
circumstances, or if the procedure is performed incorrectly, patients face a
number of dangers, such as severe burns and change in skin color, especially for
darker skin tones. Electrolysis is affordable, has over a century of
proven safety and effectiveness and is appropriate and safe for all skins types
and colors.
Do you work with Transgender
Clients? - Yes. We offer complete privacy and state of the art equipment that allows for maximum comfort. Our transgender friendly electrolysis services include beard removal, thinning and sculpting.
